Giving Back

As a mother of two small children, it’s very important to me to lead by example by alms-giving and being loving & kind to everyone — this includes the neighbor I wave to and the people I’ve never met in my life that live in our community and world.

Food for the Hungry

One of the ways I give back to our community is participating in the annual Food for the Hungry campaign. Every December, our community comes together to achieve a monetary & food item goal to donate to our local Salvation Army & Interchurch organizations. We have participated in the Food for the Hungry drive for two years. During the 2015 campaign, LMA raised $920 and over 145 food items. In 2014, they raised $367 and over a hundred food items. In 2013, LMA raised $330 & 108 food items to donate to Food for the Hungry. We are very proud and happy that we are able to volunteer our time and services to such an amazing community campaign every year.

Thank you to Brooke Adams of LMA Design & Photography for helping out the Food For The Hungry Drive in 2013. Thanks for your design skills in designing our various Facebook covers and for your absolutely fabulous photos. You helped us tell the story of need and generosity in Knox County. We cannot do what we need to do to provide for the needs of our neighbors without the help of businesses and individuals that share our passion for Knox County. Your special promotion of taking children’s Christmas photos in exchange for a donation of food or money was genius and generous. Thank you LMA. We are looking forward to working together next year.

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church

St. Vincent has a special place in my heart. I went through the eight month RCIA process to join the Catholic church in 2012. Since then, I’ve donated my time and skills to special projects that involve photographing parishioners and designing posters for RCIA candidates.

Knights of Columbus Council 847

Knights of Columbus Council 847 is a family fraternal service organization in Mount Vernon. I have been donating my photography skills and web design knowledge towards the development of their website and events. My husband is also a fourth degree Knight.
