Study break

I’m all caught up with my latest photography projects, so I thought I’d post something a little different today. I took this photo a couple of weeks ago. About 6 months ago, my husband and I had a serious talk about our future and what we hoped to accomplish in the next 10 years. One of the things he wanted to do was get his Masters degree. We just became parents so we knew this could be challenging, but in the end, we decided it was well worth it.

The photo below is around 10pm, mid-week, in our living room. He is studying for a big test. Our daughter was a little wound up that night {even after several attempts to go nighty-night} and decided to help Daddy turn the pages.

I haven’t taken many low-light night photos, so I am excited to share one that I am happy with all around {light, composition, style} I have said this before, but if I can feel the portrait breathing, I consider it well done. {Or call me crazy for thinking a picture can breathe!} But can’t you just see his chest rising??!
